Work 1:1 With a Nutritionist Who Understands Gut Healing
If you are living with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS or ongoing digestive symptoms, you will already know that nutrition advice online can feel overwhelming, contradictory and often completely disconnected from real life.
One person tells you to remove fibre.
Another says fibre is essential.
Some say to cut out entire food groups.
Others claim diet has nothing to do with gut disease at all.
For people living with inflammatory bowel disease or chronic digestive issues, that level of confusion can make eating feel stressful instead of nourishing.
This is exactly why I created my signature one-to-one programme.
My name is Katie Truscott-Howell, founder of KLK Nutrition, and I specialise in helping people with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and IBS rebuild their health through personalised nutrition, behaviour change and nervous system support.
Over the years I have worked with thousands of clients across the world, helping them reduce digestive symptoms, rebuild their relationship with food and feel confident in their bodies again.
But the work I do goes far beyond simply handing someone a meal plan.
I am a registered nutritionist and behaviour-change coach specialising in gut health, inflammatory bowel disease and the gut–brain axis.
I also live with Crohn’s disease myself, which means I understand the emotional and physical challenges of digestive illness not just academically, but personally.
Alongside my clinical work with clients internationally, I also deliver education and performance nutrition seminars for military personnel, teaching strategies that optimise energy, resilience and recovery under demanding conditions.
Outside of nutrition, I am also a hybrid athlete, which means movement and performance form an important part of how I approach health.
That combination of clinical training, lived experience and performance coaching shapes the philosophy behind my work.
Because gut healing is rarely about just food.
It is about the entire system that surrounds food.
Many people come to me after trying multiple diets, elimination protocols or supplement routines without seeing lasting improvements.
This happens for a simple reason.
Most approaches focus on symptoms in isolation, rather than understanding the broader physiological and psychological systems influencing gut function.
Digestive health is shaped by several interconnected factors
• the foods we eat
• how the nervous system responds to stress
• daily habits and routines
• movement and circulation
• behavioural patterns around food and health
When these areas are addressed together, the body has a much greater opportunity to stabilise.
This is the philosophy behind my Mindful Gut Healing Method.
My one-to-one programme is a personalised coaching experience designed to support people living with
• Crohn’s disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• IBS
• chronic bloating
• digestive discomfort
• inflammatory digestive conditions
Every client receives a structured roadmap that focuses on rebuilding digestive health through four key pillars.
Nutrition forms the foundation of gut healing, but it needs to be personalised, evidence-based and tolerance-driven.
Inside the programme we focus on
• rebuilding nutrient adequacy
• reducing unnecessary dietary restriction
• identifying individual food tolerances
• supporting digestion and absorption
• stabilising blood sugar and energy levels
Rather than promoting extreme diets, the goal is to help clients develop a sustainable and confident relationship with food.
Movement plays an important role in digestive health through its effects on
• gut motility
• circulation
• inflammation regulation
• nervous system balance
Depending on each client’s health status, this may involve gentle daily walking, structured training or performance-focused exercise programming.
As a hybrid athlete myself, I also help clients understand how movement can be used as a powerful tool for improving resilience and energy as well as disease prevention.
Living with digestive illness can create significant psychological stress, I totally get it.
Many people develop fear around food, anxiety about symptoms and a sense of losing control over their bodies.
Inside the programme we work on rebuilding
• self-efficacy
• emotional resilience
• nervous system regulation
• confidence around food and symptoms
This work draws on behavioural psychology, growth mindset research and coaching strategies that help clients shift from feeling stuck to feeling empowered.
Knowledge alone rarely creates change.
The real challenge is building daily habits that support long-term health.
Using behaviour change frameworks such as implementation intentions, self-monitoring and habit design, we focus on creating routines that are realistic and sustainable.
This helps clients move from short-term motivation to lasting behavioural transformation.
Inside my one-to-one programme, clients receive personalised support designed around their individual needs.
This includes
• detailed health assessments
• personalised nutrition strategies changing weekly
• symptom-led food planning
• supplement guidance where appropriate
• regular coaching check-ins (weekly)
• behavioural and mindset coaching
• nervous system regulation strategies
• ongoing support and accountability (24/ direct support)
The goal is not simply to manage symptoms in the short term, but to help clients develop the knowledge and confidence needed to sustain their health long after the programme ends.
My one-to-one programme is designed for people who
• have Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or IBS
• experience ongoing digestive symptoms
• feel confused by conflicting nutrition advice
• want evidence-based guidance tailored to them
• are ready to take an active role in their health
Many clients come to me after years of feeling frustrated with trial and error approaches to diet.
What they often discover is that healing becomes far more achievable once they have a clear roadmap and the right support.
Over the years my work has supported people from across the UK, Europe, Canada, North America and Australia.
Clients often tell me they feel relief simply from finally having a structured plan that makes sense of their symptoms.
My approach is different because it combines
• clinical nutrition science
• behaviour change psychology
• gut–brain axis understanding
• practical real-life implementation
This allows clients to move beyond restrictive diets and begin building a sustainable, resilient approach to health.
